Position Overview

The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee a team of at least three cleaning staff in executing janitorial and maintenance tasks within the Environmental Management Service.

Key Responsibilities

The essential duties associated with this position encompass a comprehensive range of cleaning activities in designated areas of the facility, adhering to general directives regarding the tasks to be performed. The incumbent will utilize various cleaning agents to maintain linoleum, wood, marble, and different types of floor, wall, and ceiling surfaces. Responsibilities also include stain removal from various surfaces using appropriate chemicals and cleaning solutions. Occasionally, the incumbent may need to operate ladders and scaffolds for tasks such as changing light bulbs, replacing window treatments, and washing walls. The role requires the operation of powered cleaning equipment, including routine maintenance and replacement of brushes and accessories.

Work Schedule: Rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

Qualifications

Experience: A specific duration of training and experience is not mandated; however, candidates must demonstrate sufficient training or experience that reflects their capability to perform the duties of this position. Evidence supporting the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for this role must be clearly detailed in the resume.

Physical Requirements: The incumbent must be capable of lifting and carrying up to fifty (50) pounds. The role involves climbing ladders, constant walking, and performing light to moderate bending and stooping. Daily operations may require simple grasping, fine hand manipulation, and reaching above shoulder height.

Working Conditions

Work is primarily conducted indoors with adequate lighting, heating, and ventilation. The environment may vary in temperature from hot in summer to cold in winter. The incumbent may encounter exposure to humidity, chemicals, solvents, dust, and noise. Duties may be performed in patient wards or storage areas, with potential exposure to contaminants during sanitation and waste management tasks.
