The role involves comprehensive training on kitchen machinery and culinary recipes, as well as supervising a team of 5 to 12 inmate workers in food preparation and meal distribution. A strong focus on maintaining high sanitation standards is essential, utilizing trustee labor effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Train staff on kitchen equipment and food preparation techniques.
- Supervise inmate trustees in food production and service.
- Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety standards.
- Manage shift operations, including early morning and evening schedules.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess industrial or commercial food service experience, with a preference for those with correctional facility experience. A valid Texas Driver's License is required, and applicants must successfully pass a background check.
Compensation and Benefits
- Starting pay of $15.00 per hour.
