Position Overview

We are in search of a Lead Compliance Specialist to serve as a key resource for all pharmacy and healthcare compliance issues. This role encompasses the governance of Alto's Policies and Procedures, which includes the development, modification, and organization of all pharmacy policies and procedures. You will oversee and facilitate the creation of employee training and education programs, acting as a champion for compliance training and a goodwill ambassador for the Alto compliance initiative. Your responsibilities will include assigning role-specific compliance training and emphasizing the significance of timely and accurate compliance training completion, as well as addressing non-compliance issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the maintenance of Alto Pharmacy's compliance framework by:
    • Selecting an appropriate learning management system (LMS) to manage and monitor all compliance and general training
    • Developing and sustaining our compliance training initiatives
    • Collaborating with Human Resources to create role-specific training programs
    • Assisting Human Resources in recommending actions for non-compliance
    • Promoting and representing our Ethics and Compliance program
    • Serving as the primary contact for Alto's ethics and compliance hotline
    • Acting as the in-house expert for accreditation processes
    • Establishing a governance framework for policies and procedures
    • Assisting in the selection of software to manage all Alto policies and procedures
    • Gathering stakeholder feedback for existing and new policies and procedures
    • Conducting gap analyses and developing any necessary or outdated policies or procedures
    • Providing general guidance on pharmacy compliance matters impacting daily operations
  • Engaging collaboratively with cross-functional teams to meet business and compliance objectives.
  • Keeping informed of changing regulatory and industry standards, ensuring appropriate actions are taken and communicated to relevant personnel.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • PharmD or BS in Pharmacy
  • Active pharmacist license in good standing in at least one jurisdiction
  • Experience in monitoring training and education through an LMS
  • Expertise in policy management and governance
  • Familiarity with managing ethics and compliance hotlines
  • Strong understanding of URAC/NABP/ACHC accreditation standards and processes
  • 3-5 years of experience in pharmacy or healthcare compliance
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, sound clinical judgment, and empathy for patients
  • Highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented
  • Resourceful and adaptable, thriving in a fast-paced, growing environment
  • Ability to develop and scale efficient operational processes
  • Understanding of how software can enhance business operations
  • Excellent organizational skills with proficiency in Google Apps and database applications
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team to resolve issues
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CHC accreditation from the HCCA
  • Knowledge of multi-state pharmacy operations
  • Familiarity with the shared services pharmacy model
  • Understanding of pharmacy licensing requirements

Additional Job Requirements:

  • Ability to read and comprehend English, following oral and written instructions.
  • Close visual acuity for tasks such as data analysis, transcribing, and extensive reading.
  • Effective communication skills for exchanging information and conveying detailed instructions.
  • Ability to perceive sounds at normal speaking levels and receive detailed information through oral communication.
  • Frequent repetitive motions required for computer operation.
  • Sedentary work: primarily sitting, with occasional walking and standing required.
