Job Title: Talent Regulatory and Policy Specialist

Are you passionate about creating and maintaining policies and procedures that ensure compliance with regulatory standards? Do you have a strong background in regulatory affairs and a keen eye for detail? We are seeking a talented Regulatory and Policy Specialist to join our team at Parkland Health and Hospital System (PHHS).

Job Summary

The Regulatory and Policy Specialist will be responsible for creating and maintaining Office of Talent Management (OTM) policies and procedures. This includes planning, directing, and coordinating activities to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including Centers for Medicaid & Medicare (CMS), Health & Human Services (HHSC), Texas Administrative Code (TAC), and The Joint Commission (TJC) HR accreditation standards.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
  • Conduct audits and evaluations to identify areas requiring clarification or emphasis
  • Perform internal audits, gap analysis, and process mapping to improve OTM's and the HR Chapter's survey readiness
  • Assist in the creation of a corrective action plan to address deficiencies found during audits, HR Tracers, HR regulatory and accreditation standards reviews or surveys
  • Act as the acting HR Regulatory and Accreditation Chapter (HR Chapter) Champion and OTM's primary contact person to the Regulatory and Accreditation Department
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Five (5) years of experience in the regulatory or compliance field
  • Five (5) years of experience in policy and procedure development
  • Knowledge of legislation and regulations
  • Hospital-specific knowledge preferred but not required
