Position Overview

The Strategic Operations Manager will collaborate with leaders across the organization to identify and assess strategic growth and optimization opportunities. This role entails overseeing and directing organization-wide strategic projects, providing guidance, and working alongside stakeholders from various business sectors to ensure effective execution and alignment with our strategic goals. The Strategic Operations Manager will participate in all phases of strategy management, including exploration, planning, execution, and performance evaluation, acting as a consultant and working closely with the Project Management Office (PMO) and other essential stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate cross-departmental collaborations with senior leadership and functional teams to uncover strategic opportunities.
  • Perform thorough research and analysis to inform strategic planning and decision-making, drawing insights from extensive data sets and conducting detailed financial assessments.
  • Partner with leadership to define and communicate the corporate strategy and key strategic priorities.
  • Manage project scopes, prepare analyses and deliverables, ensuring top-quality outcomes that reflect the team's best insights.
  • Supervise the implementation of strategic initiatives, ensuring they align with organizational objectives and are executed successfully.
  • Develop and enhance essential team tools and systems while managing individual team members and initiatives.
  • Assess strategies post-implementation to evaluate their effectiveness and contribution to organizational goals.
  • Gather and analyze internal and external feedback to promote continuous quality improvement.
  • Identify areas for enhancement and recommend workflows based on a comprehensive understanding of the organization.
  • Lead presentations and influence various internal and external stakeholders to maintain ongoing alignment and support.
  • Champion change and persuade others to recognize the value of initiatives, managing interpersonal dynamics and articulating the strategic vision to ensure alignment.
  • Comfortable leading and supporting initiatives related to mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships, including due diligence, integration planning, and execution to foster organizational growth and alignment with strategic objectives.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in strategic roles, such as management consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, business analysis, or program management.
  • Proven ability to manage medium to large-scale initiatives or multiple workstreams within broader strategic projects.
  • Demonstrated progressive responsibilities with a successful track record in strategic research, planning, execution, and performance management.
  • Preferred experience in the healthcare sector, particularly in health plans and/or value-based care models.

Skills and Competencies
  • Ability to apply structured thinking and frameworks to address challenges.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, including experience in developing models and creating impactful presentations.
  • Possession of an advanced degree or certifications such as MBA, MHA, PMP, PMI-ACP, Six Sigma Blackbelt, Lean Certification, or similar professional designations is preferred, showcasing expertise in strategic thinking.
Work Environment

This position operates under standard office conditions. The employee is expected to work at a computer and engage in phone communication for extended periods. Physical demands include the ability to stand, sit, walk, and occasionally climb. The incumbent must be prepared to work flexible hours, including weekends as necessary.
