Position Overview

As the Senior Manager specializing in Partnership Capital Account Maintenance Tax, you will primarily lead consulting initiatives focused on Partnerships, particularly under IRS code 704, 1065s, and Subchapter K. Your role will involve collaborating with the PCAM team to maintain a comprehensive understanding of partnership taxation, as teamwork is essential for success.

From the outset, you will be equipped with high-quality tools and resources to excel in your position, ensuring client needs are met and high-value solutions are delivered effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain in-depth technical knowledge of Partnership (Subchapter K) tax regulations.
  • Oversee, mentor, and train Managers, Senior Associates, Associates, and Interns on tax-related projects while evaluating staff performance during engagement reviews.
  • Lead various engagements.
  • Commit to ongoing self-improvement within the PCAM group.
  • Prepare detailed Excel spreadsheets that reflect client-specific applications of key Subchapter K concepts, including IRC 704(b) capital accounts, outside tax basis, inside basis adjustments, disguised sales, and IRC 751(b) hot asset transactions.
  • Implement IRC 704(c) principles when applying multi-layer separate asset methods or multi-layer netting methods.
  • Utilize IRC 743 and IRC 734 alongside IRC 755 applications.
  • Enhance client understanding of Partnership (Subchapter K) tax development implications.
  • Encourage collaboration across service lines and industries to deliver exceptional client service.
  • Engage in productive interactions with office, regional, and national leadership.
  • Support business development efforts, including identification, proposal creation, and other client pursuit activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA, licensed Bar member, or Enrolled Agent designation (with a Master's Degree) is required.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in Partnership (Subchapter K) taxation at a prominent public accounting or law firm.
  • Preferred experience in partnership structuring, entity formation, and mergers & acquisitions.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, writing, and project management capabilities.
  • Proficient in preparing and interpreting Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
  • Exceptional client service and communication skills, with a proven ability to foster and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Demonstrated leadership, business development, recruiting, training, coaching, and mentoring abilities, complemented by excellent written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and prioritize effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
Compensation:
The base salary range for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.
