Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled ITS Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance and installation of various roadside technologies. This role requires a self-motivated individual who is eager to tackle challenges and ensure the safety of the traveling public.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a subject matter expert in the installation, wiring, integration, maintenance, and programming of equipment such as poles, cabinets, IVDS, radar systems, CCTV cameras, encoders, digital message signs, Ethernet switches, and related hardware and software.
- Provide on-site leadership and technical support as needed.
- Train team members in safety protocols, computer operations, and electronics maintenance and installation.
- Develop and manage on-call schedules while supervising junior personnel.
- Serve as the primary liaison between staff and clients.
- Monitor task progress and provide regular updates.
- Oversee subcontractor performance, including work completion, invoicing, and payment applications.
- Utilize strong computer skills to assist administrative and inventory teams in maintaining reports and inventory.
- Review contract documents to ensure familiarity with project scope.
- Ensure quality assurance for all tasks performed by supervised staff.
- Prepare as-built documentation as required by clients.
- Collaborate with administrative staff to procure necessary parts and materials.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience) with typically 7+ years of progressive experience in telecommunications installation and testing or a related technical field.
- Proven experience in electronics troubleshooting.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Capability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. over short distances.
- Experience working on uneven terrain.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work flexible hours, including possible rotational on-call duties.
- Effective communication skills in English, including the ability to understand and follow verbal instructions.
- Must pass background checks and drug screenings as required.
- Adhere to safety regulations set by the company, clients, and OSHA.
- Proficient in the safe handling and use of assigned equipment.
- Ability to interpret installation manuals for various equipment types.
- Maintain a calm and professional demeanor in all communications.
- Valid driver's license required, meeting insurance requirements.
- Ability to work independently and interpret construction plans for execution.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field.
- Willingness to travel as necessary; CDL and forklift experience are advantageous.
- Virginia Workzone Safety certification is a plus.
- 2+ years of management experience.
- Networking/IT experience and certifications are desirable.
Compensation:
Salary range: $83,000 - $145,800. We prioritize our employees' well-being and offer comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), 401(k), life insurance, flexible work schedules, and holidays.
