Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership for the Office of the CIO and develop and execute IT roadmaps to drive innovation and excellence.
- Improve UIT operational effectiveness by streamlining processes, reducing costs, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
- Develop and manage budgets, financial plans, and resource allocation strategies to support IT initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including CIO Executive Team members, to advance strategic goals and objectives.
- Oversee talent management, including recruitment, development, and retention of IT staff, to ensure a high-performing team.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant area or similar qualification, or at least 5 years of equivalent knowledge and skills developed through professional experience.
- At least 5 years of progressive leadership experience in IT management, strategic planning, and/or talent management.
- Proven experience in developing and executing strategic plans and IT roadmaps.
- Experience in workforce management, including talent planning, development, upskilling, and alignment with strategic goals.
- Demonstrated experience in budget development and financial planning.
- Strong background in stakeholder engagement and collaboration across departments.
- Experience working in higher education providing vision/strategy at a senior level.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and guide staff.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent the CIO's interests effectively.
- Demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of organizational culture and decision-making processes.
- 10 years' experience in program management, finance, or human resources.
- Master's degree in a relevant area.
- Talent Management or human resource certification.
- Proficiency in developing and managing performance metrics and KPIs.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate the impact of AI, market competition, and financial considerations on IT staffing models and job design.
