Job Overview

The Retirement Benefits Analyst plays a crucial role in the ongoing management of Defined Contribution Plans (401(k)). This position involves overseeing the biweekly and semi-monthly funding processes, generating reports, correcting file discrepancies, and collaborating with the Plan record-keeper as well as internal stakeholders when necessary. The role requires thorough data analysis, addressing file errors, responding to employee inquiries, and participating in special projects aimed at enhancing retirement and financial wellness initiatives, including the annual submission of the 5500 report.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Calculate and submit biweekly and semi-monthly 401(k) contributions to the plan administrator, coordinating with payroll and HR technology teams.
  • Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies and file errors.
  • Conduct ongoing reviews and analyses of vendor and employee data to ensure accuracy.
  • Evaluate existing systems and procedures to identify opportunities for process enhancements.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in analyzing large datasets, leveraging strong mathematical skills and financial insight.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on benefits-related data.
  • Generate necessary reports for billing and allocation purposes.
  • Possess a solid understanding of employee benefit plans and their administration.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems (e.g., UKG/Plan Source preferred).
  • Deliver timely and effective customer service to employees.
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail and thrive in a dynamic work environment.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest professional standards.
  • Showcase excellent analytical capabilities, particularly advanced skills in Excel.
  • Demonstrate effective time management and organizational abilities.
  • Communicate positively and effectively with all levels of staff and management.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications proficiently.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate's degree in Human Resources, Finance/Accounting, or a related field; equivalent experience or training may be considered.
  • Three to five years of experience in Retirement/401(k) Benefits and/or benefits administration.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance/Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification is a plus.
