Job SummaryThe USG is seeking a Retirement Benefits Coordinator who will work closely with the Director of Benefits. This role is pivotal in overseeing the administration of various retirement programs and ensuring compliance with legal standards.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Director in managing retirement plan activities, including mandatory and voluntary plans.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to plan documents and compliance with legal requirements.
- Address inquiries related to retirement plans from vendors and HR professionals.
- Collaborate with Shared Services on operational procedures and plan administration.
- Engage with legal counsel to resolve compliance issues as necessary.
- Manage relationships with vendors and consultants, ensuring service level agreements are met.
- Compile and analyze retirement plan enrollment statistics.
- Assist in gathering data for the Retirement Plan Advisory and Investment Review Committee.
- Maintain and update retirement plan documentation and workflows.
- Track and manage the retirement plan budget.
- Coordinate meetings, travel, and invoice processing.
- Oversee updates to the Retirement Plan website and related communications.
- Prepare and distribute training materials and communications regarding retirement plans.
- Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of experience in retirement plan administration.
- Professional certification in retirement or benefits plan administration (e.g., RPA, CEBS, CRSP).
- Experience with retirement plan audits and compliance testing.
- Project management experience.
- Experience in conducting employee training sessions on retirement benefits.
- Ability to analyze complex data and prepare detailed reports.
- In-depth knowledge of ERISA, IRS regulations, and relevant laws governing retirement plans.
- Understanding of HR and payroll systems integration.
- Proven ability to manage multiple retirement plan types (e.g., 401(k), 403(b), pension plans).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively and creatively to address challenges.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to establish strong internal relationships.
- Ability to apply knowledge of policies and procedures to resolve issues.
