Position Overview

The Post Professional Physical Therapy program at Touro University, within the School of Health Sciences, is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Chief of Clinical Education for the Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency program. This role includes faculty responsibilities within the Post Professional DPT program and is offered on a part-time basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical mentorship to Orthopedic Residents in both educational and practical settings.
  • Serve as an instructor for Clinical Mentorship and Clinical Residency courses, while also guiding clinical mentors.
  • Organize clinical experiences, conduct site visits, and supervise residents throughout their clinical training, utilizing the ABPTRFE RCI system for assessment and monitoring of resident progress.
  • Engage in the recruitment of clinical practice sites and mentors.
  • Coordinate Clinical Reflection and Professional Service courses within the Post Professional DPT program.
  • Participate in the admissions process by interviewing prospective students.
  • Attend informational sessions and open houses to promote the program.
  • Contribute to departmental meetings and initiatives.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy is mandatory.
  • Certification from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialty in orthopedics or completion of an orthopedic residency is essential.
  • Must hold a valid license to practice Physical Therapy in at least one U.S. state.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including professionalism, diplomacy, and sound judgment.
  • Familiarity with online learning platforms such as Banner, Canvas, and Adobe Connect.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proven ability to foster positive and collaborative relationships with students, faculty, and peers.

Travel Requirements

  • Willingness to travel to clinical mentorship sites and residents' workplaces as needed.

Physical Demands

  • This position requires adherence to Touro's Vaccine Mandate policy.

Compensation

Maximum Salary: USD $50,000.00/Yr.

Minimum Salary: USD $40,000.00/Yr.
