Position Overview: Senior Research Scientist, Agricultural Division

We are seeking a Senior Research Scientist to spearhead the development of agricultural products at our headquarters. This role will report directly to the Vice President of Technical Services and Business Development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the innovation and development of new products and technologies tailored for the agricultural sector.
  • Design and refine manufacturing processes for new and existing products within the agricultural division.
  • Collaborate with the operational excellence team to facilitate the scale-up and launch of new products and processes.
  • Establish finished product specifications and validate analytical testing methods essential for characterizing new agricultural offerings.
  • Enhance the current agricultural product range and identify opportunities for process optimization.
  • Work closely with marketing and sales teams to align product development with the needs of the agricultural industry.
  • Conduct thorough market research to gain insights into the agricultural landscape and competitive offerings.
  • Stay informed about relevant FDA, EPA, and USDA regulations affecting agricultural operations.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently, providing updates through detailed technical reports and presentations.
  • Assess and approve new raw materials or substitutions as requested by the procurement team.
  • Offer recommendations for storage and shelf-life based on comprehensive testing and studies.
  • Assist in creating technical marketing materials for the marketing department.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to both internal teams and external partners.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Chemistry or a related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of industrial research experience; or MS in Chemistry with at least 5 years of experience; or BS in Chemistry with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in product development and characterization, particularly within the agricultural sector or related fields.
  • Familiarity with standard wet chemistry techniques and advanced analytical instrumentation such as ICP-OES, ICP-MS, FTIR, GC, and HPLC.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with laboratory software.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Excellent quantitative, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex findings clearly.
