Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Research Scientist to spearhead the development of agricultural products at our headquarters. This role will report directly to the Vice President of Technical Services and Business Development.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the innovation of new products and technologies tailored for the agricultural sector.
- Design and refine manufacturing processes for both new and existing agricultural products.
- Collaborate with the operational excellence team to facilitate the scale-up and launch of new products.
- Establish product specifications and validate analytical methods necessary for new agricultural products.
- Enhance the current agricultural product range and identify opportunities for process optimization.
- Work closely with marketing and sales teams to align product development with industry needs.
- Conduct thorough market research to gain insights into agricultural trends and competitive offerings.
- Stay informed about relevant FDA, EPA, and USDA regulations affecting agricultural operations.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently, providing updates through detailed reports and presentations.
- Assess and approve new raw materials as requested by the procurement team.
- Offer recommendations for product storage and shelf-life based on rigorous testing.
- Assist in creating technical marketing materials.
- Provide technical support and guidance to both internal teams and external partners.
Qualifications
- PhD in Chemistry or a related discipline with at least 2 years of industrial research experience; or an MS in Chemistry with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or a BS in Chemistry with at least 9 years of industrial research experience.
- Proven experience in product development and characterization, ideally within the agricultural sector or a related field.
- Familiarity with standard wet chemistry techniques and advanced analytical instrumentation such as ICP-OES, ICP-MS, FTIR, GC, and HPLC.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with enterprise resource planning and laboratory software.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively.
- Exceptional quantitative, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex findings clearly.
