Rantec Power Systems Inc. is seeking an experienced Inventory Control Supervisor for our 1st Shift operations.

About Us: Rantec Power Systems, located in California, is a premier designer and manufacturer of power supply solutions tailored for military and aerospace applications. Our engineering-driven approach ensures excellence in every aspect of power supply design, production, and testing.

Position Summary: The Inventory Control Supervisor will be responsible for managing personnel and overseeing all material-related functions at Rantec. This includes processing incoming materials, managing storage, issuing materials for production, shipping products, and accurately recording all inventory transactions using our Material Requirements Planning (MRP) software. The supervisor will also report on inventory control and shipping/receiving metrics to upper management and lead initiatives for continuous improvement to enhance inventory turnover.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate staffing and skill development for Material Handling and Shipping/Receiving teams.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels and movements through both manual and computerized systems (MRP).
  • Direct tasks related to the management of finished goods, work-in-process (WIP), and raw materials.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives (such as 5S and Lean methodologies).
  • Receive materials into stock locations, perform transactions, and ensure proper storage based on material requirements.
  • Assemble production kits for manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain precise inventory records and support record-keeping functions.
  • Assist with Supplier or Internal Corrective Action Requests (CARs) as necessary.
  • Coordinate training and development for Material Handlers and Shipping/Receiving staff.
  • Review and ensure compliance with customer packaging and shipping requirements.
  • Develop or update Operating Instructions in line with new or revised requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in inventory management.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively support manufacturing operations.
  • Preferred 3 or more years of supervisory experience.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, including drawings and Bills of Materials (BOM).
  • Familiarity with inventory management software (MRP) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Capability to maintain organization in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • APICS CPIM and/or CSCP certifications are advantageous.

Compensation: Salary is set at $35.50 per hour.
