About Us: Rantec is a premier designer and manufacturer of power supplies tailored for military and aerospace applications. Our expertise encompasses all facets of power supply design, production, and testing.
Position Summary:
The Inventory Control Supervisor will be responsible for managing personnel and overseeing all material operations at Rantec. This includes processing material receipts, storing materials, issuing materials to production, shipping products, and documenting all inventory transactions through Rantec's Material Requirements Planning (MRP) software. The supervisor will also report on inventory control and shipping/receiving metrics to management and will be tasked with identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory turnover.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate staffing duties and skill sets related to Material Handling and Shipping/Receiving.
- Monitor inventory levels and movements utilizing both manual and computerized inventory systems (MRP).
- Direct tasks associated with materials management for finished goods, work-in-process (WIP), and raw materials.
- Identify and execute continuous improvement projects (5S, Lean, etc.).
- Receive materials into stockroom locations, perform material transactions, and ensure proper storage based on requirements.
- Assemble production kits for manufacturing.
- Maintain precise inventory records and support record-keeping functions.
- Assist with Supplier or Internal Corrective Action Requests (CARs) as necessary.
- Coordinate training and development for Material Handlers and Shipping/Receiving personnel.
- Review customer packaging or shipping requirements to ensure compliance with processes.
- Develop or update Operating Instructions based on new or revised requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of relevant experience in inventory management.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively support manufacturing operations.
- 3 or more years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Ability to interpret documentation, including drawings and Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Familiarity with inventory management software (MRP) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Proven ability to maintain organization in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- APICS CPIM and/or CSCP certifications are a plus.
Compensation: $35.50 Hourly
