Position Overview
The National Sales Training Specialist for Abbott Rapid Molecular Diagnostics (RMDX) in Infectious Disease will play a crucial role in executing comprehensive training initiatives for our field sales teams. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in equipping our personnel, including Regional Sales Managers, Strategic Account Specialists, Enterprise Account Managers, Account Managers, and Inside Sales Representatives, with the necessary knowledge and skills. Collaboration with the Training Manager and Technical Training Manager will be essential to effectively deliver engaging training content and facilitate field co-travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure new hires grasp essential product information and internal processes, including systems like Salesforce, Power BI, and Definitive Healthcare.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Distribution Channel Managers, and the Office of Ethics and Compliance to implement effective training programs for the field team.
- Coordinate with Meeting and Events Coordinators to keep participants informed about upcoming training sessions.
- Develop training schedules, learning pathways, and generate reports on training outcomes while maintaining accurate training records.
- Manage the ordering and shipment of training materials and supplies.
- Conduct assessments to evaluate new hire retention of training content.
- Accompany new hires on field visits, providing constructive feedback and identifying growth opportunities.
- Ensure new hires are proficient in territory management and demonstrate effective presentation skills during sales calls.
- Stay updated on product information and marketing strategies to serve as a vital resource for new hires.
- Facilitate regular training calls to reinforce key topics and processes throughout the first year of employment.
- Work closely with Field Coaches to ensure training content is well-paced and meets the needs of new hires.
- Identify unmet training needs and assist in developing relevant curriculum.
- Maintain a repository of competency measures, including exams, quizzes, and certifications.
- Engage participants creatively to enhance learning experiences.
- Oversee content management in the learning management system, ensuring accessibility and completion tracking for the field team.
- Achieve certification in at least one Miller Heiman methodology: Strategic Selling, SPIN Selling, or Conceptual Selling.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Medical or Diagnostics Sales.
- Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time.
- Preferred experience in training or coaching roles.
- Familiarity with Allego LMS is advantageous.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience in delivering effective virtual and in-person training sessions is preferred.
- Proven ability to utilize internal resources and effectively manage a national territory.
- Strong written communication skills for preparing evaluations and recommendations.
- Creative approach to maintaining engagement in training sessions.
- Ability to organize and administer a learning management system.
