About GO Foundation

GO Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing students with access to quality education through high-dosage tutoring. Our mission is to recruit, train, and support a corps of young adults who are placed in partner schools where they intensively tutor students as part of a year of service through the federal AmeriCorps program.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced educator and program manager to lead our Teacher Residency program. The successful candidate will be responsible for scaling up the program from its current size of 6 Teacher Residents to 25-30 over the next year. This includes facilitating high-quality adult learning experiences for Residents, establishing strong partnerships with school leaders and graduate school programs, managing the details of a complex program, and working with our Recruitment Team to grow the Residency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advisor and Coach for New Educators
    • Observe every Teacher Resident in-person at least 1x monthly, providing feedback on their progress and ensuring that the gradual release model is being followed with fidelity
    • Facilitate network-wide professional development specifically for Teacher Residents, both during our summer pre-service training and throughout the year
    • Maintain strong relationships with the leaders of graduate school programs (Relay, NYU, and WGU) and the schools in which the Teacher Residents are serving
    • Collaborate with schools to identify the best supervising Mentor Teacher for each Resident, and orient them to our gradual release model
    • Facilitate monthly meetings with each school partner to review the progress of Teacher Residents and the teaching positions available within the school
    • Support Teacher Residents to navigate challenges that they might encounter with certification, graduate school, or other adults in their school building
    • Closely monitor and support the progress of each Resident as they work through the required tasks and assessments to receive their teaching license and certification on time
  • Recruitment and Expansion of Residency Program
    • Collaborate with GO's Recruitment Team to build a robust pipeline of candidates interested in the Teacher Residency program
    • Ensure that all current GO Fellows are aware of the opportunity to stay at their school for an additional year and become a Teacher Resident
    • Interview Residency candidates and review their transcripts to ensure eligibility for state certification
    • Share Residency information with the leaders of schools that have Fellows but do not currently have Teacher Residents, with the hope of growing our program in those buildings
  • Team Member
    • Facilitate and support programming involving Teacher Residents, ordinary Fellows, and school leaders
    • Participate in biweekly team meetings, monthly in-person staff meetings, and other check-ins as needed
    • Share updates with the GO Foundation team about the work of the Teacher Residency program
