FULL TIME BACKGROUND INVESTIGATOR FOR INVESTIGATIONS PROGRAM

We are seeking dedicated FULL TIME INVESTIGATORS to join our Personnel Vetting and Security team, which is responsible for a comprehensive federal background investigations (BI) program. Candidates must reside in the Eagle Pass / Laredo / Del Rio / San Antonio, Texas area.

As a FULL TIME BACKGROUND INVESTIGATOR, you will play a vital role in a national background investigations (BI) program that delivers investigative services to various federal departments and agencies. These investigations are crucial for assessing an individual's suitability for federal employment, eligibility for classified information access, and retention in sensitive positions. The nature of these investigations often involves sensitive personal details and requires a high degree of professionalism and discretion. All information gathered is protected under the Privacy Act of 1974. Your daily responsibilities will include:
  • Reviewing completed background interview documentation for inconsistencies, errors, and omissions to ensure accuracy before initiating candidate interviews.
  • Conducting thorough background investigations by interviewing employers, colleagues, neighbors, law enforcement, military personnel, family members, and personal references.
  • Preparing comprehensive interview statements for each interviewee to facilitate logical conclusions about prospective candidates.
  • Organizing and documenting investigative materials in accordance with established protocols for inclusion in the results of investigation package.
  • Summarizing adverse information based on objective analysis of the candidate's background and interviewee statements against established standards.
Qualifications Needed:
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of background investigation experience at the state or federal level.
  • Willingness to complete an approved NTS Background Investigator course, if not already completed.
  • Active Top Secret clearance.

The expected hourly rate for this position is approximately $43.13, though actual compensation will be determined based on experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements.
