Job Overview

Position: Operations Coordinator


Summary: Collaborates with a team to manage and oversee processes within a production setting. Reports to the operations manager and executes assigned responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Under the guidance of the operations manager, organizes and prioritizes production tasks while ensuring efficient operations and cost-effectiveness.
  • Leads a diverse team of employees.
  • Assesses labor requirements based on production schedules.
  • Facilitates positive employee relations through effective communication, coaching, and professional development.
  • Addresses inquiries and resolves issues that arise among staff or during production.
  • Maintains customer relations and delivers exceptional service as needed.
  • Dedicated to implementing 5S principles.
  • In collaboration with the operations manager, develops and enforces operational methods and procedures aimed at eliminating inefficiencies and enhancing product quality.
  • Keeps the Production Whiteboard updated with current information.
  • Works alongside the operations manager to adjust production schedules and priorities in response to equipment malfunctions and operational challenges.
  • Ensures adherence to company standards regarding cost management, waste reduction, quality assurance, safety, and timely delivery.
  • Informs the operations manager of material requirements.
  • Committed to ISO and Lean Manufacturing practices.
  • Utilizes RF Gun for inventory management.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a leadership role within a production or warehouse environment.
  • Associate's degree in business or a related discipline, or evidence of ongoing education is preferred.
  • Proven track record of training and developing team members.

Language Proficiency:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety guidelines, operational instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Capable of effectively presenting information to team members.

Analytical Skills:

  • Ability to identify and resolve practical issues, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions in situations with limited standardization.
  • Ability to interpret various forms of instructions, whether written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled.
  • Ability to understand a wide range of technical instructions.

Additional Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Working knowledge of Excel.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with production equipment and tools, including forklifts, electric hand jacks, automated bagging machines, and cutting tools.
  • Understanding of packaging and sales order processes.
  • Knowledge of human behavior and motivational factors influencing employee performance.
  • Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
  • Competence in using standard office equipment such as printers and copiers.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and situations.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines effectively.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods, typically 8 hours a day.
  • Regularly required to bend, stoop, or reach with hands and arms.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment:

  • Willingness to work the hours necessary to complete assigned tasks.
  • Moderate noise levels in the workplace.
