Position Overview

The Chef de Partie plays a vital role in the culinary operations, overseeing the kitchen staff and ensuring the smooth functioning of all cooking stations. This position is essential for maintaining high standards of food preparation and quality, while also managing inventory and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

The Chef de Partie is tasked with:

  • Preparing and finalizing dishes across various kitchen stations.
  • Upholding cleanliness and sanitation standards in line with Health Department regulations.
  • Assisting the head chef in executing culinary production efficiently.
  • Labeling and dating all food products to ensure proper storage and hygiene.
  • Maintaining accurate inventory records and communicating restocking needs to management.
  • Informing the chef on duty of any incomplete tasks before the end of the shift.
Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Proficiency in English, with the ability to read recipes and perform basic math calculations; knowledge of a second language is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of culinary experience in a comparable role, preferably within a high-volume, luxury dining environment.
  • Strong sanitation knowledge, excellent knife skills, and the capability to lead and inspire kitchen staff.
  • The ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Composure under pressure, with strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
  • Organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Compliance with any necessary licensing or active work card requirements.
  • Experience in high-volume pastry production is essential.
  • Culinary training or a degree is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • A valid health card is required.
