About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Development Director to join our team at Connecticut Children's. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gift prospects to support our mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prospect Identification and Cultivation: Identify and cultivate high-potential donors to support our mission and investment priorities.
  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, board members, and executive leadership.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with our team to develop and implement strategic plans to achieve our fundraising goals.
  • Donor Engagement: Engage and steward donors through various cultivation and solicitation events, including personal visits, phone calls, and written communications.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Provide regular reports and analysis to our leadership team on prospect activity, donor engagement, and fundraising results.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in business or nonprofit management preferred.
  • Experience: Five to seven years of successful fundraising experience, preferably in a children's hospital or academic medical center setting.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with donors, stakeholders, and colleagues.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of fundraising principles, practices, and techniques, including major gift fundraising, donor research, and stewardship.
