About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director to join our team at Connecticut Children's. As a key member of our Development team, you will be responsible for driving philanthropic activity in Fairfield County to support our strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to grow our philanthropic base in Fairfield County.
  • Identify, cultivate, and solicit prospective and current donors capable of making major gifts to support our mission.
  • Build and maintain a portfolio of high-quality relationships with donors, stakeholders, and community leaders to maximize their capacity to provide financial support.
  • Collaborate with our Board Members, Executive Management Team, and physicians to develop donor relationships and engage with the Fairfield County market.
  • Engage with key members of our Medical Center divisions to maximize grateful patient family referrals, engagement, and philanthropy.
  • Achieve annual activity and outcome goals, including personal visits, major gift proposals submitted, major gifts closed, and dollars raised.
  • Develop and implement written strategies to lead to major gift closure, and maintain detailed records of strategies, steps, and progress using our Salesforce database.
  • Collaborate with other development professionals to effectively design and execute engagement, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.
  • Participate in cultivation, solicitation, and recognition events as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Five to seven years of successful track record in philanthropy, including at least three years of experience in major gifts.
  • Direct experience fundraising in the Fairfield County region required.
  • Direct experience in fundraising for a children's hospital or academic medical center preferred.
