Located in Arlington, Texas, within the dynamic Dallas/Ft. Worth 'Metroplex,' Petmate's Corporate Headquarters is conveniently positioned near renowned sports venues. Our manufacturing facility is also in close proximity to major transportation hubs.

Role Overview

As the Manager of Resin Sales and Recycling Solutions, you will lead the development of cutting-edge recycling initiatives at our Spectrum recycling facility in the Dallas Fort Worth area. Your key responsibilities will include building essential partnerships with plastics manufacturers in the region, establishing circular systems for the collection, recycling, reformulation, and resale of plastic waste. You will play a crucial role in refining pricing strategies for acquiring plastic waste and formulating effective 'go-to-market' strategies to enhance the resale value of recycled resins.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the local plastic waste and mechanical recycling landscape, including market trends and competitive factors.
  • Leverage knowledge of markets, customers, products, and sustainability issues to advance Spectrum's strategic growth objectives.
  • Build and nurture strategic relationships with key stakeholders, fostering trust and shared visions for growth.
  • Manage and expand a portfolio of strategic partnerships that enhance the Company's service offerings.
  • Collaborate with Petmate's laboratory and sales teams to coordinate joint go-to-market strategies and ensure alignment with overall objectives.
  • Oversee the quality of incoming scrap materials in collaboration with the Petmate lab and engage with suppliers regarding quality standards.
  • Establish connections with vital supply chain partners and negotiate terms with inbound plastics suppliers.
  • Gain insights into the recycling industry's market dynamics through trading commodity-grade plastics.
  • Design mechanisms for reverse logistics to support the closed-loop processes of incoming scrap and outgoing recycled resin.
  • Conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance with standards for incoming scrap materials.
Qualifications:
  • At least 10 years of experience in Waste Management, Sorting and Recycling of Plastics, or Chemical/Process Industries with a focus on sustainability.
  • A High School diploma or G.E.D. is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years in progressive sales leadership roles.
  • At least 3 years of experience with P&L responsibilities.
  • A solid understanding of the plastics industry, including 5 years of practical experience with plastic waste outputs.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Proficiency in database software, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time within the DFW region.
Preferred Skills:
  • Previous experience in establishing a profitable operation within the recycling sector.
