The individual will oversee sales, business development, and high-level relationships with National and significant Key Distributors across the United States. The primary focus will be on nurturing and expanding key customer relationships and corporate purchasing within these distributors, while also guiding other Key Account Managers dedicated to these distributors. The role includes identifying new sales opportunities within these distributors to enhance annual sales.
Secondary Responsibilities:- Assist all account managers in education and communication to foster growth within our National and large Key Distributors.
- Lead the team dedicated to National and Large Key Distributors to ensure comprehensive relationship management while addressing any potential conflicts of interest.
- Represent SCT at national events related to National and large Key Distributors.
- Address escalated customer issues and complaints regarding sales and service, ensuring alignment with SCT's mission and core values.
- Manage National Distribution accounts to develop and enhance sales volume, achieving growth and meeting annual budgetary goals.
- Contribute to the creation and execution of a strategic business account plan for National and large Key Distributors that aligns with SCT's overarching business strategy.
- Participate in and lead sales presentations at customer events and industry trade shows to showcase SCT products.
- Engage in the sales leadership team and product development team, contributing to strategic initiatives related to overall sales strategy.
- Facilitate discussions to educate current or prospective customers about our product offerings to acquire and expand business.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of customer needs and preferences.
- Stay updated on product and industry marketing trends.
- Deliver exceptional service to both external and internal customers.
- Assist in the formulation of contracts and agreements for customers.
- Submit necessary plans and reports to leadership, including weekly expense reports.
- Exhibit a strong work ethic, adhering to SCT's core values in all business interactions.
- Set a positive example by aligning with company culture and values, prioritizing effectively, communicating well, and delivering results efficiently.
- Maintain company vehicle, if applicable, and communicate any maintenance needs promptly.
Education and Experience: A minimum of five years of sales experience, including three years in a leadership role, with a proven ability to build relationships and understand customer needs at all levels. Strong analytical and logical reasoning skills, with a focus on data-driven reports to support sales growth and production planning. Ability to prioritize, organize, and multitask effectively, with attention to detail and time management skills. Independent thinker with a proactive approach to managing multiple projects with minimal supervision. Excellent public speaking and presentation skills, along with a willingness to travel. Familiarity with JD Edwards Enterprise One is advantageous. Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word, Outlook, and Excel. A Bachelor's degree in business management or a related field is preferred, ideally with sales experience in packaging and/or distribution.
