Patient Services Coordinator
Overview
The Patient Services Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the operational functions of the practice, ensuring the efficient delivery of patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee adjustments to patient schedules, effectively communicating relevant information to the medical team prior to patient visits.
- Utilize a collaborative approach to address challenges, ensuring that all aspects of patient care are executed efficiently and promptly.
- Confirm patient appointments and ensure that necessary documentation, including x-rays and referrals, is prepared in advance.
- Address inquiries from both prospective and current patients.
- Coordinate patient consultations and surgical procedures, accurately entering patient history and demographic data into the electronic health record (EHR).
- Monitor patient intake processes, ensuring that all financial and insurance details are collected prior to consultations or surgeries.
- Assist in obtaining insurance benefits information and filing claims as required.
- Support patient registration and check-out processes, verifying insurance details, calculating payments, scheduling follow-ups, and making referrals as necessary.
- Facilitate communication with referring physicians, vendors, and other stakeholders as needed.
- Welcome patients and visitors, manage phone inquiries, and assist with front desk operations.
- Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of common areas within the practice.
- Perform digital panoramic x-rays when required.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical or dental office is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Spanish is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with OMSVision Software is a plus.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment are required.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining professional relationships with colleagues and patients.
- Competence in computer usage and internet research is necessary.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA regulations is essential.
