POSITION SUMMARY

The primary objective of this role is to ensure exceptional guest experiences through effective registration processes, seamless communication across departments, and prompt resolution of issues. This position encompasses all front office functions that pertain to guest interaction and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver guest services with professionalism and a friendly demeanor.
  • Serve as the central communication hub for the property and staff, ensuring operations are smooth, welcoming, and efficient.
  • Register guests while accurately maintaining their information, including charges.
  • Adhere to operational protocols in line with The Gant's policies.
  • Manage cash transactions, including petty cash records.
  • Provide comprehensive information regarding The Gant, local community, and attractions.
  • Address guest concerns courteously and efficiently, escalating issues to supervisors when necessary.
  • Handle all mail, messages, and deliveries for guests and homeowners.
  • Maintain a clean and organized office environment, ensuring safety and sanitation standards are met.
  • Familiarize oneself with emergency and safety protocols to ensure a secure environment.
  • Proactively address any hazardous situations that may arise.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of the Front Desk Training Manual.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience in hospitality is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A valid driver's license is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to engage with employees and guests in a courteous and service-oriented manner. Bilingual skills are an advantage.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Experience with hotel management systems is preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • The primary workspace includes the front desk, lobby, and office areas.
  • Frequent use of computers and telephones.
  • Regular interaction with guests.
  • A fast-paced environment requiring multitasking abilities.
  • Assistance with luggage deliveries may be necessary.
  • Prolonged periods of standing are expected.
  • Visual acuity for reading computer screens and switchboards.
  • Manual dexterity for typing, operating a PBX, and passing documents to guests.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT

  • Telephone, computers, and related equipment.
  • Copy, fax, and postage machines.
  • Office furniture and supplies.
