Job Overview

The Licensed Clinical Support Specialist is accountable to the Outpatient Clinic Supervisor. This role involves engaging with patients, assessing vital signs (including pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and accurately documenting or entering data into patients' medical records. The specialist is responsible for preparing examination rooms for patient assessments.

Proficiency in basic computer operations is essential. Annual competency evaluations must be maintained. The candidate should possess the ability to comprehend and execute a variety of detailed instructions related to therapeutic procedures and demonstrate accurate physical observations of patients. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.

Required Qualifications :

A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary. Completion of an accredited medical assisting program, along with one year of experience in patient care, is preferred.

Certifications and Licenses :

Certification is mandatory through recognized organizations such as the American Medical Technologist (AMT), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), National Health Career Association (NHA), or MedCA as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).

A current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required, which can be obtained from the American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers or an equivalent recognized by AHA, or the American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Healthcare Providers.

Physical Demands:

The role requires the ability to perform tasks while standing, sitting, and walking continuously. Additional physical requirements include the ability to climb stairs infrequently, work indoors consistently, and occasionally work outdoors in extreme temperatures. The candidate must be capable of performing various physical tasks, including lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs unassisted, and maintaining good vision and hearing acuity.
