We are currently seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist to oversee intricate healthcare operations within a facility dedicated to individuals under the jurisdiction of federal authorities. Nurses in this role will engage in a cooperative atmosphere, delivering outpatient, urgent, psychological, and inpatient care. Typical responsibilities include conducting initial assessments and physical evaluations to identify health issues needing further attention, managing common acute conditions following nursing protocols, performing rounds for patients in inpatient care and specialized housing, and organizing the activities of their designated shift.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CLINICAL NURSE SPECIALIST:
Delivers direct patient care within the professional Scope of Practice, adhering to current accepted standards, licensure, certification, and competencies. Conducts health assessments, addressing acute issues using established nursing protocols and referring patients to advanced practice providers, physicians, mental health professionals, and/or dental care as necessary. Executes physical assessments utilizing standardized tools to gather both subjective and objective data, referring patients to appropriate medical, dental, or mental health providers as needed. Provides clinical oversight to Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel, as required. Administers prescribed medications through various routes including oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, intravenous, topical, and other methods as indicated. Conducts prescreening and intake evaluations for newly admitted patients, employing established tools to gather necessary data and referring any abnormal findings to relevant providers. Performs a variety of treatments such as wound management, vital sign monitoring, and electrocardiograms as directed by medical, dental, or mental health providers. Collects laboratory samples and conducts point-of-care testing or prepares specimens for laboratory analysis, taking appropriate actions based on lab results. Responds to medical emergencies, providing immediate care to stabilize patients and prevent further complications, and facilitates transfer to the appropriate level of care. May be required to engage in involuntary, court-mandated care. EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE:
Graduate from an accredited nursing program for Registered Nurses, located in a State, the District of Columbia, or a U.S. Territory recognized by The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). For graduates from international nursing programs, possession of a current, full, active, and unrestricted registration is required. At least one year of professional experience as a licensed registered nurse in a hospital, medical office, or residential care environment. Experience in a correctional healthcare setting is preferred. REQUIRED LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION:
Current, full, and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the state of practice or a compact state that permits practice in the state of duty. This position does not necessitate privileging by the organization. Maintains BLS for Healthcare Providers certification through the American Heart Association. Certification as a Correctional Health Professional or similar credentials is preferred but not mandatory. ABOUT THE ARORA GROUP:
