Client Support Specialist Job Description

The Client Support Specialist (CSS) plays a crucial role in managing orders for durable medical equipment (DME) or supplies. The CSS is tasked with inputting orders into the system and maintaining up-to-date patient records. This position may also involve procurement of equipment and overseeing inventory management. Participation in an on-call rotation is required.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in customer support within a healthcare environment
  • Strong customer service skills, exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, effective interpersonal skills, problem-solving aptitude, critical thinking, and organizational capabilities
  • Capacity to work autonomously as well as collaboratively, proficient computer skills relevant to the role, familiarity with DME and healthcare services, professional phone manners, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responds to incoming calls and assesses customer requirements
  • Processes requests for DME or supplies
  • Validates orders by determining the customer's medical condition and insurance eligibility
  • Exhibits knowledge of healthcare services and equipment
  • Coordinates customer deliveries and communicates order details
  • Addresses customer grievances with professionalism
  • Engages in training sessions and adheres to organizational policies

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit and utilize hands for typing or handling
  • Occasional standing and walking
  • Significant time spent communicating with customers
