MDPerm is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team as a Behavioral Health Specialist. This is a full-time position that requires a Doctorate Degree in Psychology from an APA-approved program and a minimum of one year of experience as a Licensed Psychologist at the independent level.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct mental health evaluations to enhance the behavioral health treatment plan development and services for detainees with serious mental illness or serious mental disorders.
- Provide direct mental services, including on-site counseling, individual and group psychotherapy within diverse therapeutic modalities.
- Develop and manage patient treatment plans in coordination with behavioral health technicians to assess patient level of functioning and progress.
- Provide education and training to medical, ICE, and contract staff in the area of mental health to include, but not limited to, suicide prevention, hunger strike, abuse and neglect, and victims of torture.
- Coordinate and monitor program functions including Post Order Custody Reviews (POCR), and Availability of Health Care Programs.
- Utilize EHR system for completing clinical assessments, evaluations, advanced care/placement referral initiation, and transfer/discharge summaries.
- Doctorate Degree in Psychology from an APA-approved program.
- Minimum of one year experience as a Licensed Psychologist at the independent level.
- Current, permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice independently.
- BLS for Healthcare Providers certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
- Experience implementing and managing a new mental health treatment program and a Modified Therapeutic Community treatment model.
- Experience in a detention/correctional or residential healthcare setting.
This full-time position requires availability to work days, evenings, and some weekends and holidays. The facility operates 24/7/365, and this position must respond during an emergency activation.
