Position: Creative Communications Manager

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri is a prominent organization dedicated to supporting its diverse community. POSITION OBJECTIVE: The primary objective of this role is to conceptualize, design, update, and execute multimedia materials that align with the strategic marketing and communication objectives of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri. The focus is on enhancing brand visibility, volunteer engagement, fundraising efforts, and conversion rates through effective marketing initiatives. This position demands strong skills in graphic design, videography, photography, website design, and maintenance, along with exceptional organizational abilities and creative problem-solving.


Key Responsibilities

CREATIVE DESIGN, GRAPHIC ART, PHOTOGRAPHY, AND VIDEOGRAPHY

· Design and Illustration

  • Generate innovative concepts and visual representations while adhering to brand standards and guidelines.
  • Act as the principal graphic designer for print, digital, and multimedia materials.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet organizational standards and timelines.

· Photography & Videography for Campaigns and Events

  • Provide photographic and video support for agency campaigns.
  • Lead the planning and execution of capturing essential photo and video content during internal events.
  • Organize, maintain, and repurpose multimedia assets.

Marketing and Communication Oversight

· Project Management

  • Regularly evaluate and address internal marketing and communication requests, developing necessary assets.
  • Create detailed creative briefs and project plans while managing workflows to meet deadlines consistently.
  • Assist the VP of Marketing & Communications in strategizing and executing initiatives.

COLLABORATION AND BEST PRACTICES IMPLEMENTATION

  • Fostering Success through Relationships and Innovation
    • Establish and maintain effective relationships within the Marketing & Communications department and across the organization.
    • Work collaboratively with philanthropy, volunteer recruitment, program, and operations teams to ensure marketing efforts align with organizational goals.
    • Continuously monitor and analyze results and metrics to ensure consistency and enhance outcomes.
    • Proactively seek, acquire, and apply knowledge of relevant tools, standards, and practices.

Qualifications & Relevant Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of 3+ years of marketing experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in graphic design.
  • Proven skills in photography, videography, editing, and post-production techniques.
  • Understanding of marketing (both traditional and digital), project management, and communications.
  • Familiarity with SEO, SEM, and other digital strategies.
  • Proficient in relevant software applications.
  • Experience in the non-profit sector is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Access to reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and insurance.
  • Strong project planning and management capabilities; able to handle multiple key projects simultaneously.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Standard office environment with flexible hours to meet project requirements.
  • Proficient in technology and computer skills, including MS Office Suite (specifically Word, Excel, & Teams), Outlook, and Zoom.
  • Familiarity with digital platforms such as Email Distribution, Social Media Scheduling, and Canva.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and meet state-required automobile insurance minimums.

TOOLS & TECHNOLOGIES

  • Adobe Creative Cloud, InDesign, Procreate, Canva.
  • Social Media platforms - Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn.
  • Email marketing platforms like MailChimp.
  • Content management systems such as WordPress.
  • Google Analytics.
  • Customer Relationship Management tools.
  • Workflow management systems.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • Salary based on professional and academic experience (salary range - $45,000-$55,000).
