Position Overview

The Financial Business Partner (FBP) will act as the main strategic finance collaborator to the VP of Finance. The ideal candidate will implement a financial review and accountability framework across the organization, oversee the annual budgeting cycle, manage quarterly financial forecasts, and guide the VP and other team members in making strategic decisions based on data-driven insights. The FBP will also pinpoint critical strategic challenges with the VP and conduct ad hoc analyses to uncover potential opportunities, thereby facilitating informed decision-making. This role demands thorough analysis, insight, and oversight of performance metrics, while also supporting other key stakeholders by effectively communicating information and enhancing reporting efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary strategic finance collaborator to the VP of Finance.
  • Establish a financial review and accountability framework across the organization.
  • Oversee the annual budgeting cycle.
  • Manage financial forecasts.
  • Develop a deep understanding of proprietary software applications and job management platforms in use.
  • Guide the VP of Finance and team members on strategic initiatives that enhance performance through data-driven decision-making.
  • Identify critical strategic challenges with the VP and conduct analyses to uncover opportunities.
  • Provide insights and control over performance metrics.
  • Support other key stakeholders by effectively communicating information and enhancing reporting efficiencies.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with other financial partners and the Director of Financial Planning to implement best practice reporting tools where applicable.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in finance or a related area.
  • Experience in a business partnering role with a focus on strategic decision-making.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and derive meaningful insights.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of conveying financial information to both financial and non-financial audiences.
  • Solid business acumen with an understanding of business operations and their impact on financial performance.
  • Experience in budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Proficient in Excel and other financial modeling tools.
  • Able to manage multiple projects in a dynamic work environment.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with various business intelligence reporting tools is preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications.

Job Demands:
  • This position requires working in an office environment alongside other managers.
  • Willingness to visit job sites for training purposes.
  • Typical physical demands of a desk job, including prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
The compensation for this position will be based on qualifications, experience, and geographic location. This role is primarily compensated through a highly incentivized commission structure.
