About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient registration of patients, while providing exceptional customer service and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate and timely registration of patients, ensuring all necessary information is collected and processed correctly.
  • Explain insurance benefits and collect co-pays, deductibles, and self-pay portions due, while informing patients of their financial responsibility.
  • Research and resolve complaints regarding customer service, registration, authorization, or scheduling.
  • Monitor team productivity and accuracy, working with team members to address any issues or concerns.
  • Adapt behavior to meet the specific needs of patients, including respect for privacy and effective communication.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional degrees or certifications may be beneficial.
  • 3 years of direct experience in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare environment.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
