Senior Network Solutions Engineer

Position Overview
SAIC is in search of a Lead Network Engineer to provide expertise in support of the Tactical Network (TACNET) contract. This role will be based onsite in Norfolk, VA and will involve leading the Enhanced Distance Support (EDS) team to deliver remote assistance utilizing Tactical Networks Remote Access (TNRA) for Navy Fleet Customers.
Note: Occasional travel may be required in support of customer needs, including off-hours support on occasion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee project management efforts, offering support and direction to subject matter experts (SMEs) related to Enhanced Distance Support (EDS) tasks and remote technical assistance for US Navy vessels concerning supported C4I systems (including ADNS, CANES, ISNS, CENTRIX-M, SCI Networks, VIXS, and WRBS).
- Collaborate with Active-Duty Military personnel, US Government employees, and external stakeholders to develop break/fix courses of action (COAs) for NAVWAR PMW160 fielded Tactical Networks in a dynamic, high-energy setting.
- Evaluate issues within an enterprise LAN shipboard environment to identify optimal resolutions.
- Engage with US Navy Customers to ensure effective maintenance of Navy Afloat networks and their associated components and capabilities.
- Ensure comprehensive metrics are collected, maintained, and reported to the customer.
- Manage, update, and execute work schedules as necessary.
- Assess current operations and organize training sessions and meetings to discuss potential improvements.
- Review daily reports and monitor status boards to track task progress, make assessments, and provide actionable insights to meet task scope requirements while adhering to scheduling constraints.
- Assist in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guides to promote repeatable processes and best practices.
- Prepare progress reports and deliver presentations to relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant field; an additional four (4) years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Proficiency with TACNET Programs of Record Systems: ADNS, CANES, CENTRIXS, ISNS, SCI Networks, VIXS, or WRBS.
- Experience in supporting Network/Server/IT within an enterprise environment.
- Demonstrated management and/or leadership experience in the IT sector.
Required Clearance:
- Must possess a current Active Secret Clearance.
- Must be a current U.S. Citizen.
Required Certifications:
- Must hold a current DoD IAT Level II certification such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CASP+ certification.
- Must be able to obtain one additional certification such as CCNA, MCSA, MCSE, Linux+, VCP, or equivalent within 6 months of hire date.
