Position Overview

SAIC is looking for a Lead Network Engineer to provide essential support for the Tactical Network (TACNET) contract. This role involves leading the Enhanced Distance Support (EDS) team and utilizing Tactical Networks Remote Access (TNRA) to deliver remote assistance from a secure lab environment to Navy Fleet Customers.

Travel Requirements: Occasional travel may be necessary to meet customer needs, including both CONUS and OCONUS travel. Off-hours support could also be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee project management tasks, offering support and direction to subject matter experts (SMEs) related to Enhanced Distance Support (EDS) and remote technical assistance for US Navy vessels.
  • Collaborate with Active-Duty Military personnel, US Government staff, and external stakeholders to provide effective break/fix solutions for NAVWAR PMW160 fielded Tactical Networks.
  • Evaluate issues within an enterprise LAN shipboard environment to determine optimal resolutions.
  • Engage with US Navy Customers to ensure proper maintenance of Navy Afloat networks and their associated components.
  • Monitor and report on all metrics, ensuring they are collected and maintained for customer review.
  • Manage and update work schedules as necessary.
  • Analyze current operations and organize training sessions and meetings to discuss potential improvements.
  • Review daily reports and status boards to track task progress and provide guidance to meet task requirements.
  • Assist in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines to ensure consistent processes and best practices.
  • Prepare progress reports and deliver presentations to relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or an additional four years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Proficiency with TACNET Programs of Record Systems, including ADNS, CANES, CENTRIXS, ISNS, SCI Networks, VIXS, or WRBS.
  • Experience in supporting Network/Server/IT functions within an enterprise setting.
  • Demonstrated management or leadership experience in the IT sector.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must possess a current Active Secret Clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Certification Requirements:

  • Must hold a current DoD IAT Level II certification, such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CASP+.
  • Must be able to obtain an additional certification (e.g., CCNA, MCSA, MCSE, Linux+, VCP) within six months of hire.
