We are seeking a highly skilled maintenance professional to join our team as a Water Distribution Maintenance Worker or Operator I. As a key member of our Public Works Department, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the city's water distribution systems.


About the Role:

This position requires individuals with a strong background in maintenance and repair work, as well as excellent customer service skills. You will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including:

  • Maintaining the city's water distribution system, including pumps, pipes, hydrants, meters, reservoirs, and valves
  • Providing customer service for meter reading, leak repair, and installation of taps and meters
  • Performing small construction projects, including pipe installation and replacement
  • Troubleshooting water system problems and making repairs

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Graduation from high school or G.E.D.
  • Valid Washington State Driver's license and ability to maintain a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier
  • First Aid/CPR certification or must obtain within 12 months in this position
  • Traffic Control and Flagging certification or must obtain within 6 months in this position
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class "A" or must obtain within 12 months of employment in this classification

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $26.48-$30.27 (Maintenance Worker) to $32.21-$36.44 (Operator I), depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, you will also receive a comprehensive benefits package, including:
