Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Content Manager, Associate Principal, to join our team at FINRA. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the maintenance of test questions and content outlines for securities industry/client qualification examinations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain item banks for securities industry/client qualification examinations by analyzing performance, assessing needs, and collaborating with a content committee to draft, review, and edit new and current items.
  • Lead committee meetings, manage committee membership, and monitor performance, productivity, and attendance of committee members.
  • Edit new items submitted by committee members and bank items to conform with FINRA/client style guide, and use standard item statistics to guide analysis and decisions.
  • Maintain and update content outlines as necessary, and publish updated content outlines on a timely basis.
  • Assist with job analysis studies under the direction of more senior staff, and research, monitor, and evaluate the effect of FINRA, SEC, and other industry entity rule changes on exam programs.
  • Participate in the development of system requirements and conduct user acceptance testing for in-house developed item bank and authoring system.
  • Respond to exam-related inquiries from FINRA staff, members, exam candidates, and others, and refer advanced questions/issues to a more senior analyst or manager when necessary.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and three (3) years securities/financial industry and/or content development experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent communication skills (both oral and written) are essential to effectively manage relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders/constituents with varying (often conflicting) interests.
  • Must be proficient with all standard office software, and able to work independently and produce high-quality work product that requires a great attention to detail.
  • Quantitative skills and ability to learn and use databases are desirable, as is project management experience.
Working Conditions
  • Work is performed in a standard office environment, with some travel required (20%).
Compensation

Salary ranges vary by location, with proposed salary ranges outlined below. Actual compensation is based on various factors, including but not limited to, the candidate's skill set, level of experience, education, and internal peer compensation comparisons.

CA: Minimum Salary $91,500, Maximum Salary $170,900
CO/HI/MN/VT*: Minimum Salary $79,500, Maximum Salary $142,300
IL*: Minimum Salary $87,500, Maximum Salary $156,600
Jersey City, NJ/NY, NY: Minimum Salary $95,400, Maximum Salary $170,900
MD/Washington, DC: Minimum Salary $91,500, Maximum Salary $163,700
WA: Minimum Salary $79,500, Maximum Salary $163,700

*Including positions performed outside the state but reporting to an office or manager in that state.

Candidates can expect salary offers that range from the minimum to the mid-point of the salary range. FINRA provides full pay ranges so that the candidate can consider their growth potential while at FINRA.
