Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Line Cook to join our team. As a critical part of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food to the highest standards. Your attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be essential in delivering an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare food to specifications before and during unit operations
  • Properly measure and portion all food items, ensuring compliance with portion sizes, quality standards, and department rules
  • Cook all food to proper specifications in a timely manner
  • Utilize kitchen equipment to prepare food items, including knives, slicers, whips, pots, pans, warmers, steamers, grills, ovens, etc.
  • Ensure proper food temperatures are maintained and food is stored correctly in accordance with current health and food handling regulations
  • Ensure freshness and quality of all menu items
  • Perform opening, closing, and side work duties as instructed on daily checklists
  • Keep workstation, coolers, and equipment clean, organized, sanitized, and sufficiently stocked
  • Follow and uphold all health codes and sanitation regulations
  • Set up, operate, and maintain kitchen equipment
  • Use waste control guidelines and record all waste
  • Use proper documentation to record all food production
  • Complete all tasks, in order, on the prep list from the manager
  • Label and store all products to company standards
  • Wash, chop, and sort ingredients like fruits, vegetables, and meats
  • Clean dishes, wash cooking utensils and cookware, and sanitize the kitchen
  • Work hand in hand with the manager, runners, cooks, and hotel staff in a safe and respectful manner
  • Assist with inventory counts when needed
  • Follow all company policies and procedures
Requirements
  • At least one year's experience as a Prep Cook or Line Cook
  • Ability to read and understand recipes and food abbreviations
  • Ability to move rapidly and coordinate multiple orders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Attentive and detail-oriented
  • Capable of following procedures and taking directions
  • Basic math skills; ability to understand, calculate, and follow recipe measurements and proportions
  • Louisiana Food Handler Certification
  • Weekend availability required
