Position Title: Aviation Maintenance Technician II

Location: GAC St. Louis

Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 eligibility

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification along with 2 years of aviation maintenance experience, or
  • 4 years of aviation maintenance experience, including 2 years on mid/large size aircraft.
  • A valid Driver's License is required.

Position Purpose:
Under minimal supervision, this role involves conducting inspections, maintenance, and repairs of moderate to advanced complexity on aircraft systems and structures.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Essential Functions:
    Communicate effectively to understand work assignments. Execute complex aircraft inspections, repairs, and modifications with minimal oversight.
  • Collaborate with MTL, STM, and the Inspection Department to ensure adherence to internal and FAA inspection and documentation standards. Accurately complete CMP cards, work order sign-offs, and related paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Assist with shift transitions as necessary.
  • Ensure all completed work meets quality standards and specifications.
  • Properly identify and secure customer property and equipment. Store aircraft components and other customer property safely.
  • Follow standard operating procedures when using ground support equipment (e.g., external power carts, hydraulic mules, hydraulic lift platforms, tow tugs, forklifts, compressed gas cylinders).
  • Coordinate and assist with aircraft movement in hangar and ramp areas.
  • Provide mentorship to less experienced technicians.
  • Safeguard customer property.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Properly collect and dispose of waste materials, including fuel, oil, hydraulic fluids, de-icing fluids, and solvent rags. Implement 6S and Lean Initiatives to maintain cleanliness in work areas.
  • Apply Lean and continuous improvement processes across all responsibilities.
  • Utilize and maintain company-provided tools and equipment, returning items to designated storage after use.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, using protective equipment as necessary and addressing unsafe conditions proactively.
  • Utilize the material tracking system for parts demand creation, tracking squawks, sign-offs, and labor charging to correct work orders.
  • May include flight tests on aircraft in support of certification and final phase testing.
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary.

Other Requirements:
Working knowledge of FAA regulations, process specifications, Repair Station and Quality Control manuals, and company policies is essential. Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language is required.
