Sign-On Bonus Eligible Position
Position Overview:
The Aviation Maintenance Technician II plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and functionality of aircraft systems and structures at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation. This position requires a high level of expertise and the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
Key Qualifications:
- Must be capable of utilizing fall restraint systems and operating from elevated platforms.
- A High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
- An FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate is required, along with a minimum of 2 years of aviation maintenance experience, or 4 years of experience with at least 2 years on mid to large-sized aircraft.
- A valid Driver's License is essential.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections, maintenance, and repairs of moderate to advanced complexity on aircraft systems.
- Collaborate with Maintenance Team Leaders, Supervisors, and the Inspection Department to ensure adherence to internal and FAA regulations.
- Accurately complete documentation such as CMP cards and work order sign-offs in a timely manner.
- Assist with shift transitions and ensure all work meets established quality standards.
- Safeguard customer property and ensure secure storage of aircraft components.
- Follow standard operating procedures when utilizing ground support equipment.
- Facilitate aircraft movement within hangar and ramp areas.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior technicians.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Manage the proper disposal of hazardous materials including fuel and oils.
- Implement Lean initiatives to maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and utilize protective equipment as necessary.
- Utilize the material tracking system for parts demand and labor tracking.
- Participate in flight tests as required for aircraft certification.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements:
- A solid understanding of FAA regulations, process specifications, and company policies is necessary.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is required.
