Key Skills Required:
Proficiency in avionics systems, electrical component installation, and wire harness fabrication.
Education and Experience:
A High School Diploma or GED is mandatory. Candidates should possess either:
- Two (2) years of accredited education in aviation electronics, or
- Two (2) years of relevant work experience, or
- An avionics certification from an accredited institution along with one (1) year of applicable work experience.
Familiarity with regulatory standards and customer specifications is essential. The ability to interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams is also required.
Role Overview:
Under minimal supervision, the Avionics Technician II is responsible for assisting in the removal and installation of avionics electrical components. This includes the fabrication of wire harnesses, installations, terminations, and conducting functional tests of avionics and electrical systems.
Core Responsibilities:
- Assist in the installation, modification, and fabrication of wiring and electrical components in accordance with engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of work performed.
- Complete tasks within designated timeframes while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and customer specifications.
- Conduct thorough checks to ensure defect-free assemblies prior to final inspections.
- Adhere to the company's FOD program, tool control program, 5-S program, and all safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Care for and maintain shop equipment and tools as directed by the Supervisor.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., YIAW, Kaizen events).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Qualifications:
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. Proficiency in computer skills and general software applications is necessary. Candidates must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language proficiently.
