Job Overview

We are looking for a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Technician to work full-time, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Once training is completed, you will participate in the on-call rotation.

The starting compensation for this position ranges from $22.00 and up per hour, depending on your experience, skills, and whether you possess your Type II or Universal EPA certification.

If you do not currently hold this certification, we are committed to investing in your professional development by covering the costs of your exam and study materials. You will be required to complete the exam within 60 days, and upon passing, your pay rate will be adjusted accordingly.

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing both technical and mechanical tasks at their assigned location. This role ensures that the physical aspects of the buildings, apartments, amenities, grounds, and common areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, functionality, and overall appeal for residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct proactive inspections of buildings, grounds, and community features to ensure safety and aesthetic appeal while participating in all maintenance and repair activities across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and appliance repair.
  • Prepare vacant apartments for leasing and new residents.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) or one to three months of related experience and/or training in a vocational setting; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills for effective engagement with residents, clients, team members, and other business contacts.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and maintenance manuals.
  • Knowledgeable in the safe use and upkeep of hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • Work is performed outdoors in various weather conditions, with occasional indoor tasks, and involves moderate exposure to hazards such as paint fumes and solvents.
  • Must be capable of lifting, carrying, or repositioning items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent physical activity is required, including standing, climbing stairs, and navigating uneven terrain while maintaining balance.
