Your Role
The Maintenance Technician II plays a crucial role in ensuring that all equipment within the Flatbed Fulfillment Center (FFC) operates smoothly.
This position requires a skilled technician with experience in RDC systems and building components.
The Maintenance Technician II possesses specialized knowledge and advanced repair skills in two of the following areas:conveyors, rolling stock, or building maintenance.
Additionally, this individual has a foundational understanding and basic repair skills in the other area outside their primary expertise.
In all cases, the Maintenance Technician II must have adequate electrical and mechanical knowledge to safely and independently address equipment repairs within the RDC.
This role involves integrating trade skills, classroom training, and practical experience to identify and troubleshoot equipment issues, determine necessary repairs, prioritize tasks, procure required spare parts, and execute repairs effectively.
This individual is also capable of mentoring Utility and Maintenance Mechanic I team members while seeking guidance from the Maintenance Coach when necessary.
Key Responsibilities- Adhere to a set work schedule that may be adjusted by management based on facility needs.
- Availability to work various shifts, including mornings, afternoons, nights, or weekends, as required.
- Provide on-call support as needed.
- Work in a distribution/warehouse environment, managing the physical and environmental conditions typical of such settings.
- Utilize tools and perform maintenance tasks requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
- Safely handle corrosive materials and work at heights exceeding 20 feet.
- Lift a minimum of 25 pounds, with the ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
Minimum Requirements
- Valid state driver's license.
- A minimum of 4 years of maintenance experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in each of the two specialty areas.
- Experience in repairing and providing technical training in standard electrical/electronic voltage systems.
- Certification to perform work at a Senior Mechanic level, if required by local regulations.
- Proven compliance with safety standards.
- Ability to see objects clearly and differentiate colors.
- High school diploma or completion of a technical school program.
- Experience and/or certification in welding and fabrication.
- Certification for electrical work and/or high voltage systems.
- Experience operating various maintenance and operational vehicles and equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to address equipment/system irregularities in their specialty area, thereby minimizing equipment/system failures and downtime.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and other technical documents.
