Position Overview:


Lanesra Technical Recruitment Ltd is representing a prominent Tier 1 Design & Build Contractor specializing in the water sector. They have secured a significant portfolio of projects aimed at enhancing non-infrastructure water and wastewater systems.

To support this initiative, they are seeking a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer to facilitate the successful execution of these projects.

Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate closely with the Project Manager, overseeing the design process (including evaluating solutions and exploring innovative opportunities), construction phases, commissioning, and contract implementation. The goal is to ensure project completion aligns with specifications, timelines, and budgetary constraints while prioritizing health and safety and maintaining high customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to, manage, and update construction schedules to ensure critical milestones are achieved;
  • Organize, lead, and engage in collaborative planning sessions with all key stakeholders;
  • Prepare and distribute tender invitations, analyze responses, and provide recommendations for contract awards;
  • Issue requisitions to procurement teams;
  • Facilitate technical coordination between engineering teams and supply chain partners;
  • Provide daily support to site management teams, addressing and escalating issues as necessary;
  • Review consolidated invoices, identifying discrepancies prior to payment approval;
  • Encourage stakeholders to identify innovative solutions and improve operational practices to mitigate risks to safety and commercial performance;
  • Manage and update the risk register, assisting Project Managers with early warnings and variations;
  • Participate in Health & Safety, Progress, Employee Forums, and Coordination meetings as required;
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager, Health & Safety, Design, and Construction teams to report on all incidents and unsafe conditions;
  • Prepare pre-start documentation and manage data uploads to relevant systems;
  • Work closely with the Project Quantity Surveyor to develop cost plans, monitor project expenditures, and report any variations to the Project Manager.

Support your team in ensuring adherence to all Health and Safety protocols, safeguarding the well-being of employees, clients, and the public.


Qualifications:
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a construction-related field.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and end-users.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Health and Safety legislation, including CDM 2015.
  • Proven experience in delivering engineering projects.
  • Results-oriented with a track record of setting and monitoring targets and schedules.
  • Familiarity with ICheme forms of contract (desirable).
  • Chartered status with a recognized institution or actively pursuing it (desirable).
  • Experience in the water industry (non-infrastructure) (desirable).
  • APMP or equivalent certification (desirable).
  • Proficient in contract management, governance, budgeting, risk management, digital delivery, procurement, stakeholder management, resource management, change management, and quality management.
