Lanesra Technical Recruitment Ltd is representing a leading Tier 1 Design & Build Contractor specializing in the water sector, engaged in a significant portion of clean and wastewater non-infrastructure projects.

We are seeking a Project Director for a cutting-edge Desalination Plant in Cornwall. This role encompasses the overall leadership, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and successful completion of the project, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives by meticulously planning and assessing project activities, adhering to timelines, and maintaining budgetary constraints while prioritizing health and safety and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities:
• Uphold exceptional safety and quality standards for both direct and subcontracted teams.

• Ensure the implementation of the Business Management System (BMS) throughout all phases of project delivery, from tender handover to final completion.

• Foster strong client relationships at all levels.
• Safeguard the company's reputation by maintaining positive relationships with joint venture partners and suppliers.
• Ensure that adequately trained personnel are available for the project and that they understand their individual responsibilities.

• Plan projects effectively, including the review and approval of the Project Execution Plan (PEP), and monitor and control project delivery.

• Ensure that detailed construction plans and method statements are prepared, approved, and in place prior to the commencement of activities.

• Confirm that all records referenced in the PEP are complete and accessible upon contract completion.
• Report all site non-conformities and identify approximate costs.

• Manage all commercial aspects of the project proactively, providing accurate forecasts and estimates.

• Understand and implement Quality, Safety, and Environmental Policies and Targets.
• Recognize the importance of satisfying customer requirements to enhance customer perception and satisfaction.

• Maintain a solid practical knowledge of all technical disciplines related to delivering water and wastewater design and build projects.

• Possess a thorough understanding of project management practices from inception to end-user acceptance.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
• Proven project management experience in overseeing multi-disciplinary design and construction projects, preferably within the water sector.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in a construction, commercial, or engineering-related field.
• Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or equivalent.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate closely with clients, stakeholders, and end-users.

• Must be results-oriented, with the capability to set targets and effectively manage and motivate multi-disciplinary teams to achieve time, cost, and quality objectives.

• Extensive experience in project delivery.
• Strong strategic, operational, technical, and management skills.
• Knowledge of Construction Contracts, ideally NEC and/or IChemE, with the ability to negotiate and administer.
• Capability to present at Governance Reviews in a leadership capacity.
• Experience in Risk & Opportunity Management.
• Maintain a positive and solution-focused approach to work, providing transparent and constructive feedback.
• Familiarity with CDM and construction Health & Safety regulations.
• Experience in water and wastewater treatment facilities.
• Chartered status with an engineering, commercial, or construction institution.
