Qualifications:
- Professional degree in Architecture or a related field
- At least 5 years of pertinent project experience in commercial and industrial domains
- In-depth technical knowledge of building construction, details, Ontario Building Code, and building science
- Capability to oversee multiple projects concurrently
- Ability to lead and collaborate within a team setting
- Proficiency in coordinating with a multi-disciplinary consultant team
- Outstanding communication and organizational abilities
Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Project Coordinator will vary depending on the phases of Planning, Design Development, and Construction for each project.
Daily tasks will encompass a mix of the following activities across various project types and scales.
Planning:
- Engage with clients to clarify project needs
- Conduct code assessments of designs and details
- Analyze design alternatives and offer suggestions from a value engineering perspective
- Review and authorize both internal and consultant proposals and budgets
Design Development:
- Supervise the creation of working drawings and project specifications
- Develop details to assess design feasibility
- Perform technical evaluations of current design specifications
- Collaborate with the Design team for material and product selections
- Maintain ongoing client communication during the design phase
Construction:
- Oversee the tender process – review contracts, analyze submissions, and support clients during decision-making
- Manage contract administration throughout the project lifecycle
- Review and approve project shop drawings, coordinating with sub-consultants as necessary
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and provide design review updates
- Address on-site issues related to construction and coordination challenges, respond to RFIs, and provide additional instructions as needed.
Compensation:
Salary range: $65,000-$110,000 annually
