Pharmacy Technician III Role

This position is responsible for performing a variety of pharmacy technician duties under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist at the University of New Mexico.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with pharmacy technician training, audits, and project assignments to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Coordinate medication-related issues for patients, providers, and clinic staff to provide timely and effective solutions.
  • Order medications, maintain inventory, and manage medication shortages to minimize disruptions and ensure continuity of care.
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of pharmacy software and hardware to optimize system performance and user experience.
  • Participate in the preparation and distribution of medications, including compounding and dispensing, to ensure accuracy and quality.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of Hospital Pharmacy Technician Training or equivalent.
  • Chemotherapy drug preparation training within 60 days.
  • 2 years of directly related experience.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician in NM within 60 days.
