Job Description:

As a Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and customer service. Our pharmacy technicians are the face of our company, interacting with customers and developing strong relationships with our patients.

This apprenticeship program provides an entry point to a career in healthcare, guiding you in taking steps towards becoming a Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Certified Pharmacy Technician. You will gain a nationally recognized, portable credential that will help you advance your career.

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will assist pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, under direct supervision. You will use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and perform other pharmacy duties in accordance with Company policies and procedures.

You will also be responsible for modeling and delivering a distinctive and delightful customer experience, engaging customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. You will resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, under direct supervision
  • Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions
  • Perform other pharmacy duties in accordance with Company policies and procedures
  • Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience
  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services
  • Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience

Requirements:

  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
  • Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment
  • Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens
  • Prefer good math skills to fill prescriptions accurately
  • Prefer good computer skills
  • Prefer knowledge of store inventory control
  • Prefer PTCB certification
