Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Organized Retail Crime Manager to join our team at Kroger. As a key member of our Asset Protection department, you will be responsible for overseeing organized retail crime (ORC) interactions within a defined region, executing against ORC initiatives, and responding to cases involving executive protection, critical incidents, threat analysis, and threat assessments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, exploit, and lead investigations related to ORC and other assigned investigations
  • Liaison with law enforcement about trends in ORC and other crimes targeting Kroger properties
  • Partner with internal/external stakeholders and teams to create solutions that support waste integration and reduce shrink related to ORC
  • Initiate, conduct, and resolve multiple complex organized retail theft/fraud investigations within defined regions
  • Conduct ORC prevention and awareness training
  • Coach Asset Protection Specialists (APS) assigned to ORC investigations
  • Partner with District Asset Protection Managers on all critical incidents to help facilitate and streamline investigation processes
  • Support company initiatives for theft mitigation and other programs designed to help reduce waste
  • Collaborate on efforts in physical security, crime prevention, product security, and executive protection
  • Assist in execution of threat analysis and assessments related to defined Kroger facilities and share with respective stakeholders to create an understanding of contributing factors and needed corrective/preventative action
  • Conduct stationary and mobile surveillance utilizing different methods
  • Process intelligence from external and internal resources related to security issues and risk analysis
  • Monitor domestic and international issues that surround security and threats to Kroger
  • Coordinate investigations targeting distribution centers and warehouses
  • Prepare case reports for local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies
  • Testify routinely in civil and criminal proceedings on behalf of the company
  • Assist law enforcement on search warrants, product identification, and recovery of stolen merchandise
  • Travel within an assigned expansive geographical area to investigate ORC and other assigned cases; be on call 24/7
Requirements
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Familiar with background, asset, and property searches at local, state, and national levels
  • Exhibited knowledge of close circuit television (CCTV) systems, portable video equipment, and surveillance devices
  • Proven ability to testify in criminal proceedings and maintain confidentiality
  • Demonstrated success managing volatile situations and ability to interact with all levels of the public
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct criminal investigations, apply interview/interrogation skills, gather evidence, and write reports to present to law enforcement
  • Demonstrated sound judgment and independent decision-making skills
  • Success facilitating large group presentations/training
  • Strong leadership skills and motivated self-starter
