Position Summary

The Membership Services Associate plays a vital role in managing service desk operations, facilitating membership sales, and ensuring the cleanliness of the facility and its equipment. This individual will deliver exceptional customer service to both members and guests, frequently engaging with them, as well as with management and fellow staff members, while fostering strong relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome all members and guests upon entry and bid farewell upon exit;
  • Oversee club access for both members and non-members;
  • Address inquiries and resolve complaints from members and guests;
  • Handle phone inquiries and provide information to potential members;
  • Conduct tours for prospective members;
  • Facilitate membership sales, prepare agreements, and input new member data into the system;
  • Utilize Point-of-Sale systems and manage outstanding account balances;
  • Organize and maintain the customer service front desk area;
  • Schedule appointments for fitness training sessions;
  • Perform routine facility checks every 20 minutes and complete necessary checklists;
  • Assist new employees by answering questions and providing guidance;
  • Execute opening and closing procedures;
  • Maintain club cleanliness, including:
    • Cleaning equipment and surrounding areas;
    • Dusting and wiping surfaces as needed;
    • Vacuuming and mopping floors;
    • Restocking supplies such as toilet paper and soap;
    • Emptying waste receptacles;
    • Organizing cleaning supplies;
  • Exhibit a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, valuing the contributions of all team members;
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred;
  • Prior experience in customer service or sales is advantageous;
  • Experience in cleaning or maintenance is a plus;
  • Basic computer skills are required.

Work Environment & Requirements

  • Familiarity with operating cleaning equipment such as vacuums;
  • Exposure to standard cleaning agents;
  • Ability to recognize and assess behaviors in the environment;
  • Effective communication skills to convey information clearly.
